The ASSOCIATION FOR EDUCATION, CULTURE AND ARTS is a Bulgarian not-for-profit organization established in 2001.
Some of AECA’s main objectives are:
- To support the collection, preservation, restoration and popularization of both traditional and modern arts and culture of all ethnic communities in Bulgaria, as well as of Bulgarian communities abroad.
- To initiate the application of alternative approach and research for the educational reform in Bulgaria in view of integration of Bulgarian education in international educational trends
- To provide opportunities for groups and individuals to express in a creative way the specific features of their linguistic, ethnic and religious culture
The Association contributes to these objectives through:
- Independent expertise group established
- Carrying of analyses, scientific research, artistic reproductions, introduction of innovative methods in education, culture and art
- Partnership in the implementation of joint projects between Bulgarian and foreign organizations and institutions active in the field of education, culture and art and their optimization
- Organization and conduction of scientific and general events such as prèmières, exhibitions, meetings, discussions, conferences, seminars, thematic schools, cultural and eco tourism, etc.
The association is based in Sofia and has established two branches in two regions of the country - the cities of Yambol and Gotse Delchev. Each of the branches develop thair activity on local level, leading initiatives adequate to specific needs and characteristics of its regional environment.
